CBD and other marijuana-derived products have seen a major boom – with their use ranging from all kinds of things to medicines, recreational products, and even food stuffs.

While cannabis products are legal in Nevada – and have been since 2016 – there are legal limits with regards to how much an individual can possess at any one time.

As far as CBD products are concerned, the legal limit is no more than 1 ounce in public – the breaching of which can result in a $600 dollar fine and potential legal ramifications.

In Nevada, the minimum age for medical consumption is 18 years old, whereas the minimum age for recreational consumption is 21 years old. This is to ensure proper usage rules, and to protect young people from forming habits during their developmental years.
Hemp Vs Marijuana
While marijuana is legal in Nevada, there are still rules and regulations depending on whether the CBD products in question are hemp-based or marijuana-based.
CBD products made from a flowering (see also: Canna Flower Review)marijuana plant can only be sold at registered dispensaries within the state. This type of CBD is treated exactly the same as regular marijuana, so the restrictions are somewhat more stringent.
However, CBD products made from hemp contain only trace amounts of THC, and as a result cannot get the user ‘high’. This allows the products to be sold in most drug stores throughout the state.

With regards to medical CBD products, there are also several medical conditions that can qualify you to get a prescription for marijuana use.

While they can be legally purchased both online and in stores, it can be hard to know whether the products you are getting are worth the money – or indeed if they are safe and come from reputable sources.
Luckily there are some ways to ensure a good product!
Third-Party Testing
Firstly, look for signs that show third-party outside testing. This ensures that the products have been tested in a laboratory, and that they are both suitable for sale and safe for human consumption.
Avoid Sensationalism
One way to avoid potentially dangerous or disreputable products is to avoid those that boast sensationalist benefits with and CBD use.
For example, CBD can have many anti-inflammatory and pain relieving properties that can indeed help with managing certain illnesses, but it is certainly not going to cure cancer and other serious problems.
Companies that make these claims should be avoided at all costs, as they are certainly disingenuous – if not totally disreputable.
Buy Full-Spectrum
Another tip is to ensure you are purchasing full-spectrum products – that is, products that contain all of the beneficial components that are going to allow the CBD to do its job.
This means things like terpenes and flavonoids – both of which can be beneficial. If the products are lacking these components, then they are more than likely not suitable for your needs, and should be avoided for better products.
Can Individuals Sell CBD & Marijuana?
While it is perfectly legal to purchase from registered sellers, it is still illegal for individuals to profit from the sale of marijuana and CBD products.
That being said, individuals can legally give CBD products and marijuana free of charge – although this must remain under 1 ounce.
